Job Description

Zipdev seeks a Database Administrator (DBA) on behalf of our client, a leading Compliance Software company committed to becoming the most trusted software provider in the Petroleum Industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage MongoDB and Apache Cassandra databases to ensure they deliver high availability, performance, and security.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain database architectures that support the organization’s applications and services.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to comprehend data requirements and optimize database performance.
  • Monitor and resolve database issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Establish and manage database backup and recovery procedures.
  • Improve database efficiency through query performance tuning and index optimization.
  • Partner with developers to devise efficient and scalable database designs.
  • Enforce stringent security measures to safeguard database access and data integrity.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in MongoDB and Apache Cassandra databases.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of proven experience as a Database Administrator, specializing in MongoDB and Apache Cassandra.
  • Profound understanding of database architecture, design, and optimization.
  • Expertise in database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Strong grasp of data security and privacy protocols.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for automation.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in MongoDB or Apache Cassandra.
  • Experience with database migrations and upgrades.
  • Knowledge of other NoSQL database technologies beyond MongoDB and Apache Cassandra.
