MESA is the most adaptable workflow automation platform available on the Shopify App Store. As a young and promising product, we bring significant value to Shopify merchants, improving their daily operations. We’re searching for a versatile leader to spearhead our Marketing team and drive the next phase of customer acquisition. Having tested various marketing channels, we’ve identified long-tail Content Marketing as our key to rapid growth. This is where you come in. We’re looking for an experienced Content Marketing leader who can demystify complex technical concepts and convey them in an engaging manner. If you excel in Content Marketing and SEO, can prioritize effectively, write compelling copy, manage SEO tasks, use data for strategic decisions, and make technical ideas accessible to a broad audience, you might be the perfect fit to lead our small yet powerful Marketing team.

About You

You are a seasoned marketing leader with hands-on experience in ecommerce, content marketing, copywriting, and SEO. You thrive in a dual role, guiding a small team while creating engaging, optimized content to drive organic traffic. With a strong ecommerce background, you understand digital marketing dynamics and can leverage content to boost user engagement and conversions. Your data-driven approach informs your strategic decisions, enhancing your execution of impactful content strategies that resonate with ecommerce operators. As a dynamic team leader, you inspire your team to exceed goals while fostering growth and innovation. You excel in crafting clear and compelling narratives that meet market demand and resonate deeply with customers, distinguishing the brand in a competitive market. You balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution, setting departmental goals, attending weekly leadership meetings, and directly contributing to content creation and SEO optimization.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive content marketing strategy to drive long-tail organic traffic.
  • Create compelling, SEO-friendly content tailored to ecommerce operators.
  • Optimize conversion rates across all channels, including our main website and Shopify App Store.
  • Experiment with video marketing initiatives and engage with online communities to boost brand presence.
  • Mentor and grow a high-performing marketing team aligned with MESA’s strategic goals.
  • Set goals for the department and attend weekly leadership team meetings.
  • Travel to the Bay Area four times a year for leadership planning sessions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in content marketing and SEO
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful content strategies
  • Strong knowledge of SEO best practices and on-page optimization techniques
  • Experience with keyword research and SEO tools
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  • Experience in the e-commerce industry is a plus
