Director of Sales Engineering

Job Description is a rapidly expanding, remote cybersecurity firm with a mission to help organizations proactively identify, fix, and verify exploitable attack vectors before they can be exploited by criminals. Our flagship product, NodeZeroTM, provides production-safe autonomous pentesting and other critical assessment operations, scaling across the largest internal, external, cloud, and hybrid environments. Our platform is trusted by ITOps/SecOps teams, consulting pentesters, and MSSPs and MSPs.

Job Overview

We are seeking a Director of Sales Engineering to lead a team of Regional Sales Engineers. This team is responsible for selling Horizon3AI products at all account levels and acting as technical experts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the cybersecurity marketplace and a proven track record of leading high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of top-tier Regional Sales Engineers in the Enterprise space.
  • Coach, hire, mentor, and guide the team to meet or exceed their metrics.
  • Ensure POCs, POVs, demos, and customer engagements meet company standards.
  • Clearly articulate complex security problems to a diverse audience.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Support, and Engineering departments.
  • Serve as the technical bridge for Horizon3AI prospects and customers.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of our cybersecurity products and assist the sales team in presenting and positioning them to prospects and clients.
  • Engage with potential customers to understand their cybersecurity needs and ensure our solutions fit their requirements.
  • Conduct live demos and proof of concepts, tailoring each presentation to the specific needs of potential customers.
  • Work with sales and product teams to refine our solutions based on customer feedback.
  • Train the sales team on the technical aspects of our products to enhance their effectiveness.
  • Relay feedback from the field to product and engineering teams for continuous product improvement.
  • Assist with technical sections of RFPs and RFIs.
  • Occasionally assist in post-sales processes to ensure customer satisfaction and smooth implementation.


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, cybersecurity, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Over 5 years of experience as a Sales Engineer, ideally in the cybersecurity field.
  • Strong understanding of cyber threats, risk management, and cybersecurity solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical topics for a non-technical audience.
  • Highly collaborative with strong initiative.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, with job-related travel expenses subject to managerial approval.

For this position, the salary range is $250,000 – $300,000 OTE (80/20 split) annually. The exact salary will be determined based on the candidate’s location, qualifications, experience, and skills. Additional compensation may include an equity package (stock options), with further details discussed during the interview process.
