Director, Product Marketing

Job Description

As the Director of Product Marketing, you’ll have a crucial role in steering the strategic direction of our supplemental curriculum and assessment products, ensuring they are seen as indispensable solutions in the market. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you’ll oversee a team of skilled product marketers, guiding them in differentiating our offerings through market research, contributing to product strategy, creating go-to-market plans, crafting marketing content, and supporting sales efforts.

Your responsibilities will involve defining and executing product marketing strategies to enhance awareness, adoption, and retention of our educational solutions. You’ll lead the development of launch plans for new products, conduct market research to understand customer needs and competition, integrate product positioning into marketing materials, collaborate with other marketing teams on campaigns, and work closely with sales to align messaging.

You’ll establish key metrics to gauge the effectiveness of our product messaging and competitive positioning, with a focus on driving engagement and revenue growth. In this role, you’ll have the chance to contribute to solving challenges in K-12 education, impacting the success of Newsela’s products and ensuring they resonate with educators and decision-makers.

You’re an ideal candidate if you have over 10 years of marketing experience, including leadership roles, with a proven track record in EdTech or education. The base compensation for this role is $130,000 – $150,000, with additional incentives and benefits.
