About the US-GOV Cloud Operations Team: The Cloud Operations (CloudOps) team at Icertis is tasked with ensuring the Availability, Resiliency, Performance, Monitoring, Emergency Response, and Capacity Planning of our SaaS application and related services. This team also manages Identity & Access Management, Role-Based Provisioning, Upgrades, Deployments, and Change, Incident, and Problem management to expedite time to market. CloudOps is vital in crafting and executing the cloud strategy as part of our overall service delivery.

Icertis is experiencing significant growth in the US public sector, with the US GOV CloudOps team leading efforts to define, implement, and monitor cloud security strategies that meet stringent federal security compliance standards. This team aims to protect customer assets, reduce risks, and support Icertis’ federal sales team.

This role is US-based, requires US citizenship, and mandates that the applicant resides and works from the US.

We seek a driven, detail-oriented Principal DevOps Engineer to join our rapidly expanding US GOV Cloud Operations team. This pivotal role involves collaborating with our Global DevOps team to deliver and scale exceptional cloud infrastructure while providing tools and automation to enhance operations. The ideal candidate is an automation expert proficient in SaaS and PaaS technologies and adept at applying and adapting processes to align with the company’s size, culture, and strategic goals through IaC methods. This individual must be a dedicated DevOps professional committed to secure SaaS service delivery and the success of our Azure Government customers. #LI-BP1

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as an expert cloud engineer, managing production and non-production cloud-based software solutions on Microsoft Azure (Microsoft Government Cloud preferred).
  • Develop strategic technical strategies, solutions, architecture, and design diagrams adhering to best practices in cloud architecture.
  • Deploy, configure, secure, and monitor various Azure services using Terraform, Ansible, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Innovate and automate to improve workflow, efficiency, productivity, and technology deployment.
  • Oversee projects or tasks from inception to completion and know when to escalate issues.
  • Stay updated on current and future technologies and trends.
  • Continuously enhance the security of client environments and customer data.
  • Monitor all production environments as part of a 24x7x365 on-call rotation to ensure availability, resiliency, and performance meet SLAs.
  • Respond to monitoring alerts as they arise.
  • Troubleshoot and debug C#/ASP.NET applications and/or PaaS service failures.
  • Collaborate with customer services, professional services, project/program/product managers, and engineers to ensure the smooth execution of critical and time-sensitive projects.
  • Create, update, and maintain documentation for systems, processes, procedures, and infrastructure configuration.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned, such as assisting with evidence collection during audits.
  • This is an individual contributor role with title and salary based on experience.

Working with the US Government:

  • Ability to meet Icertis, customer, and/or government security screening requirements is necessary for this role. These requirements include passing the Icertis Federal Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Requirements:

  • Over 15 years of experience across multiple industries delivering resilient and secure infrastructures.
  • At least 8 years of experience in building, deploying, and supporting mission-critical IaC cloud-first infrastructures (Microsoft Azure Cloud, Microsoft Government Cloud preferred).
  • Hands-on automation creation experience with proficiency in PowerShell, Linux/BashShell, Terraform, JSON/YAML, and Ansible.
  • Experience with automating serverless and container technologies (Azure Function Apps, Docker, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)).
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with designing, building, and supporting Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Strong skills in Windows Systems, Linux Systems, Network administration, and IIS administration.
  • Deep understanding of cloud concepts, applications, storage, compute, and networking components.
  • Proficiency in C#, ASP.NET application coding and debugging.
  • Experience with monitoring key indicators covering availability, diagnostics, performance, and logs.
  • Expertise in SQL with skills in always-on, replication, performance, backup/restore, stored procedures, schema, and query.
  • Experience working in a scrum or sprint lifecycle using a work item/ticketing queue to manage work and communication.
  • Customer-centric attitude, excellent communication skills, and a passion for technology and business objectives.
  • Ability to identify, research, and address the root cause of technical problems.
  • Continuous learner who stays current with the latest industry trends, technologies, and tools.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with Azure Portal, Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, and Azure Active Directory.
  • Proficiency with a range of Azure IaaS and PaaS services.
  • Experience working with Elastic Search, Kibana, and Redis Cache.
  • Comfortable using Azure DevOps (ADO), GitHub (Actions), and TFS (Team Foundation Server).
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio and SQL Server Data Tools.
  • Understanding of basic DevOps concepts like CI/CD and infrastructure automation.
  • Hands-on experience with Ansible and Terraform.
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) and ITIL processes and procedures.
  • Experience with collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and ADO.
  • Preferred familiarity (5+ years) with Azure PaaS security resources including threat protection, WAF (Web Application Firewall), Tenable Nessus, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Veracode, Blackduck, Sentinel, and Cloud Security Analytics.
  • Security Operations Center experience is beneficial.

Compensation: $132,000 – $198,500 annually. Salary will vary based on job-related factors such as location, experience, training, skills, and abilities. The compensation package includes base salary, annual bonus target, and an equity component.
