Job Description

We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Packaging Design and Labeling Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining product packaging designs that comply with regulatory requirements and company standards for all product labels. The ideal candidate will have outstanding design skills and experience in the supplement industry. They will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, regulatory, and quality assurance, to ensure packaging and labeling accuracy and consistency across all product lines, meeting marketing objectives, legal requirements, and product specifications. This position reports to the Product Manager and requires a resume and portfolio submission.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Stay updated on current regulations and guidelines related to product labeling, including FDA requirements, ensuring all labels meet or exceed these standards.
  • Thoroughly review existing label artwork, content, and specifications for accuracy, consistency, and compliance, and implement necessary updates across existing SKUs (packaging design, icons, SFP/NFP, ingredient information).
  • Collaborate with Product Development and Marketing Graphic Design teams to create new packaging designs, color schemes, artwork, and icons that effectively communicate product information, maintain branding consistency, and meet compliance requirements.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and organizational structure of labeling specifications, changes, versions of packaging, and approvals per company procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve labeling processes, systems, and workflows to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Ensure all packaging designs comply with relevant health and safety regulations, labeling requirements, best practices, and environmental standards, providing training and support to internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor packaging, and consumer preferences to ensure designs are contemporary and competitive.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (3-5 years) in packaging design and labeling, focusing on regulatory affairs and quality assurance within the supplement, pharmaceutical, or consumer goods industries.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field (or 5+ years equivalent work experience) preferred.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for product labeling, including FDA regulations.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator, and Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Solid understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout techniques.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and present and justify design decisions to internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail, commitment to delivering polished, error-free designs, and the ability to review and analyze complex information accurately.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

Salary: $65,000-75,000 DOE

Location: Riverton, Utah (hybrid)
