Job Description

As a key member of Coconut Software’s People and Culture team, the People & Culture Generalist plays a vital supportive role. Reporting to the SVP, People & Culture, this position is responsible for facilitating all P&C functions to enhance departmental impact and maintain a positive company culture aligned with business goals. Main duties include supporting various people committees, overseeing DEIB and Social programs, coordinating Learning and Development, contributing to Talent Acquisition, ensuring Health and Safety compliance, providing administrative support, and participating in relevant projects. The P&C Generalist is committed to delivering an outstanding 5-star experience in our dynamic, people-first environment.

*Please Note: This is a 16-month contract role.


  • Serving as the learning and development contact for team members and leaders
  • Collaborating with the Business Partner team to create and roll out training content, and coordinating with third-party vendors as needed
  • Promoting a learning culture by communicating L&D opportunities throughout the organization
  • Supporting leaders and the P&C Business Partner team with employee development needs by sourcing training programs/materials and making recommendations
  • Administering Coconut’s LMS (WorkRamp)
  • Ensuring compliance training completion by tracking and following up with employees and leaders
  • Updating the company onboarding program to provide current information
  • Assisting Talent Acquisition with full-cycle recruitment to ensure proper staffing levels, including posting jobs, reviewing candidates, interviewing, making employment offers, and liaising with recruitment agencies
  • Leading employee programs such as the DEIB committee, Social committee, and Health and Wellness committee, including event planning, execution, and budget management
  • Providing support in the Toronto office by managing passcards and lock systems, ensuring H&S compliance, and coordinating facility needs
  • Coordinating employer branding through social posts and creating marketing copy for approval
  • Administering Birthday, Cocoversary & Life Event perks
  • Assisting the P&C Manager with All Hands preparation
  • Supporting other P&C projects and initiatives alongside the P&C Business Partner team


  • Minimum 2 years of human resources experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in HR, Business, or a related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient understanding of employment legislation
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to empathize with different perspectives and deliver ideal solutions
  • Resourceful mindset with the ability to research independently and collaborate when needed
  • Detail-oriented self-starter
  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to work effectively across the organization
  • Strong project management skills
  • Agile mentality with the ability to shift focus according to business needs
