Remote Senior Frontend Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and talented Senior Frontend Engineers who can bring their unique expertise to our team and help us revolutionize the time tracking industry.

The annual salary for this role is €72,000.

This is a remote position, and you can work from anywhere in the world, provided your primary location is within the UTC-4 to UTC+8 time zones.

About the Team

Our team comprises over 100 amazing individuals spread across 40+ countries. We embrace a global hiring approach, allowing you to work locally—whether that’s in the heart of London, a beach near São Paulo, or a serene village outside Florence. We regularly organize meetups around the world to spend quality time together. We trust our people immensely and focus on outcomes rather than hours worked. Our core values drive our success.

The Role

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will be pivotal in managing significant projects. Utilizing React, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS, you will create impressive features like fast and smooth data visualizations that turn data into meaningful insights.

Our team meetings are scheduled between 11:00 and 16:00 UTC, and your participation is crucial for effective collaboration.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with engineers, product managers, and designers to translate requirements into user-friendly web components.
  • Developing and maintaining scalable data visualizations using modern frontend technologies like React and Nivo.
  • Optimizing frontend performance to ensure fast rendering and smooth interactions with large data sets.
  • Conducting code reviews, resolving technical issues, and maintaining high coding standards.
  • Working with other development teams to identify and implement best practices in frontend development.

About You

We are interested in hearing from you if you have extensive experience in frontend development and can lead major projects.

Specifically, we are looking for:

  • Deep knowledge of JavaScript and React, with a preference for experience in Redux and Redux-Saga.
  • Proven experience in leading large development projects, with strong organizational skills and the ability to plan, estimate tasks, manage stakeholders, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
  • A talent for data visualizations, with some familiarity with its principles and best practices.
  • Knowledge of testing frameworks like Jest.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for a remote team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and independence.
  • Willingness to contribute to team growth by mentoring junior engineers and providing feedback.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, for effective communication in a remote and largely asynchronous work setting.

Benefits

  • Flexibility to choose your work hours and measure results.
  • 24 days of paid time off annually, plus local holidays.
  • In-person meetups for team building (expenses covered).
  • 4-6 weeks of paid sabbatical, depending on tenure.
  • A laptop budget of up to €2,500, renewed every three years.
  • A €2,000 budget for setting up your home office, with an additional €300 annually after three years.
  • €250 per month for coworking space membership and/or home internet service.
  • €4,000 per year for training, workshops, and conferences.
  • €2,000 per year for equipment or services to enhance physical and mental health.
  • Support for purchasing tools needed for optimal performance, including eyeglasses if necessary.
