Remote Software Developer Licensing Team

June 12, 2024

Job Description

Magnet Forensics is a global leader in developing digital investigative software that gathers, analyzes, and shares evidence from computers, smartphones, tablets, and other IoT devices. We constantly innovate to equip our customers with advanced tools to safeguard their companies, communities, and countries. Earlier this year, we announced the merger of Grayshift and Magnet Forensics to enhance innovation and revolutionize digital investigations for our clients. The combined entity now operates as Magnet Forensics, reflecting our commitment to offering comprehensive, end-to-end digital forensics and incident response (DFIR) solutions. We focus on lawful access to modern digital devices with our renowned product suite and prioritize innovation for the DFIR community. Magnet Forensics continues to grow and evolve, always aiming for new heights.

Your Team

The Engineering team is dedicated to creating software that addresses the critical challenges faced by digital forensics professionals. Our algorithms decipher data that is often hidden, corrupted, or incomplete. We prioritize writing efficient code and designing intuitive user interfaces, knowing that every minute counts in high-stakes situations like national terrorism cases. Our team is composed of intelligent, passionate, and humble individuals who understand that solving the toughest industry problems requires collaboration, continuous learning, and a sense of humorβ€”expect emojis, GIFs, and some playful Photoshop skills.

A Software Developer on the Licensing team contributes to enabling Product Engineering teams to license their software and assists Order Ops in delivering software/licenses to our customers. We seek someone eager to make a difference, with strong problem-solving skills and a curious mind, to enhance our customers’ digital forensics experience.

What You Will Accomplish

  • Design and implement new licensing features for products like AXIOM and AXIOM Cyber.
  • Continuously improve existing features.
  • Take responsibility for the quality of your codeβ€”write clean, testable code.
  • Collaborate with team members and the broader engineering organization to drive innovation.
  • Adapt to changes arising from business and customer needs.
  • Be an active team member, working with talented developers and software testers.
  • Take ownership of your projects.
  • Receive support for your learning and professional development.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who meets most, but not necessarily all, of the skills and experiences listed. We value indicators of success from your skills and experiences over a perfect match. We want to be part of your development journey and learn as much from you as you will from us.

Must-Haves:

  • Post-secondary education in software engineering, computer or electrical engineering, computer science, math, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of proven experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar role, with hands-on software development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming languages, preferably C#.
  • Strong knowledge of the .NET Framework.
  • Curiosity and proven ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to contribute to technical discussions with peers and stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to tackle unique challenges.
  • Enjoy working in a collaborative environment with smart, funny, and interesting people.

The Most Important Thing

We seek candidates who can demonstrate Magnet CODE in their previous experiences:

  • CARE: We care about each other and our mission to make a difference in the world.
  • OWN: We are accountable for our results, acting with integrity, empathy, and respect.
  • DEDICATE: We are committed to meeting our customers’ needs and helping them protect the people they serve.
  • EVOLVE: We constantly innovate and explore new ways to make an impact with our work.

We are dedicated to continuous learning and building a diverse and inclusive workforce, reflected in our hiring processes and how we treat one another. If you’re interested in this role but don’t meet all the qualifications, we encourage you to apply anyway. Magnet Forensics is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, orientation, national origin, age, disability, genetics, or any other legally protected status. We provide an inclusive, accessible recruitment process and work environment, with accommodations available upon request.
