Remote WordPress Technical Support Engineer for aThemes

Job Description

We’re aThemes, creators of exceptional WordPress themes and plugins, currently seeking a patient and amiable WordPress expert to bolster our compact team. Your primary responsibility will be providing technical support to our customers via email from Monday to Friday.

We require someone available for a 4-hour daily commitment, ideally between 1900 – 2300 UTC, to address support tickets promptly. Flexibility regarding these hours is appreciated, as long as they align reasonably closely.

Our product portfolio includes three WordPress offerings: Sydney, Botiga, and Merchant, with the latter two focusing on WooCommerce. While your main focus will be resolving technical inquiries, you’ll also be tasked with compiling bug reports and noting feature requests.

This role holds significant importance as you’ll directly engage with our customers, necessitating high personal and professional standards.

There’s potential for this position to evolve into a full-time role in the future.


  • Address support queries regarding our WordPress themes and plugins (Sydney Pro, Botiga Pro, and Merchant Pro) via our email ticketing system (HelpScout).
  • Generate CSS and PHP snippets for customers seeking minor customizations.
  • Facilitate communication of bugs and improvement suggestions with our development team.


  • Comprehensive understanding of WordPress.
  • Familiarity with WooCommerce, with a willingness to expand your knowledge.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, PHP, and preferably some familiarity with JavaScript.
  • Ability to navigate browser console errors and debug using developer tools.
  • Demonstrated patience and politeness in handling support inquiries.
  • Strong written English skills, prioritizing clarity and professionalism over native proficiency.
