Job Description

In this position, you’ll be responsible for leading intricate projects aligned with our company’s major goals. This involves writing practical, easily testable code that performs well and is consistently reliable. Collaboration with colleagues will primarily be remote, as you tackle product issues affecting our comprehensive privacy solution. Your duties will expand to formally mentoring fellow engineers, fostering their career development and contributing to the growth of DuckDuckGo’s Backend Team.

Your Contribution:

  • At least 7 years of experience in backend engineering, including involvement in large-scale application development.
  • Proficiency in complex data structures and algorithms, with a focus on devising and implementing innovative solutions and enhancing existing code, predominantly using Perl.
  • A knack for creative problem-solving, paired with the ability to lead projects while also knowing when to involve others.
  • Strong project management capabilities and excellent communication skills for articulating decisions effectively.
  • Prior experience in guiding and mentoring seasoned engineers to support their professional aspirations and unlock their potential.
