We are seeking a Senior C++ Engineer to help shape our all-in-one privacy solution and contribute to our mission of demonstrating that safeguarding online privacy can be straightforward.

The Opportunity: In this role, you will play a crucial part in evolving and scaling our product, building cross-platform solutions that empower our Windows, Apple, and Android teams to efficiently develop high-performance features with minimal disruptions. This will enable us to deliver greater impact and value to our users.

You’ll have the chance to tackle complex challenges, engaging with the open-source community, and architecting solutions that advance privacy across the web.

What You’ll Bring to DuckDuckGo:

  • Leadership skills to drive impactful projects from inception through to evaluation.
  • Ability to tackle ambiguous problems, propose innovative solutions, and implement them with a focus on measurable outcomes.
  • Over 7 years of experience in Software Engineering.
  • Advanced proficiency in C++.
  • Direct experience with browsers like Chromium, WebKit, or WebView.
  • Recent experience managing end-to-end technical projects in large-scale C++ codebases using modern standards like C++14 or newer.
  • Proficiency in other modern languages such as C#, Swift, Kotlin, or Rust.
  • Experience developing for mobile platforms (Android/iOS) or desktop (Windows).
  • Expertise in browser architecture and low-level C/C++ programming.
  • Strong foundation in computer science, including algorithms and data structures.

Compensation: Annual compensation is $176,000 USD, inclusive of stock options, maintaining transparency and consistency across all professional levels regardless of location or role.
