Job Description

The Product Design team at the Wikimedia Foundation is seeking an experienced UX Designer to provide temporary support for a duration of 6 months. The selected candidate will collaborate with other designers within the team and will undertake various design tasks as determined by the needs of the product team and the Design manager they are assigned to. This role involves participation in daily remote team meetings, sharing design work regularly for feedback, and adhering to accessibility standards in design.

Key responsibilities include simplifying user experiences, creating prototypes for iterative testing, utilizing the design system to implement new features, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop product plans, and effectively communicating complex concepts throughout the design process.

The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills, offers constructive feedback, has experience in research and collaboration with UX researchers, demonstrates strategic and tactical thinking, is self-motivated to enhance their skills, and has at least 5 years of experience in design roles along with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent work experience).
