Summary

Brave is seeking a seasoned server-side engineer to enhance our Brave Premium infrastructure. The aim is to significantly boost the robustness and reliability of our backend system. We seek an impactful individual who prefers straightforward solutions and can deliver complete projects from start to finish.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Go, JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Experience with SQL, Postgres, Redis, and similar data storage technologies
  • Expertise in building robust API endpoints
  • Familiarity with AWS and deploying production systems at scale
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus, Zabbix, Pingdom, etc.
  • Commitment to 24×7 uptime and willingness to participate in pager duty rotation
  • Experience with distributed development teams
  • Comfort working in an open-source environment
  • Passion for user privacy and security
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proven track record of successful project completion

Bonus Points

  • Experience with Rust
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails
  • Familiarity with payment systems like Stripe APIs
  • Experience with subscription services and App Store/Play Store APIs
  • Knowledge of cryptocurrency, particularly Ethereum/Solana

For U.S. candidates: The salary range for this role is $130,000 – $180,000 USD, based on experience.
